Cracks or cap damage
A crack in the concrete cap, a rust stain or a joint that has opened up can each mean something different. Photograph it with a tape measure in the frame so a pro can see width and length.

Leaning, leaking or sinking? Check the permit path first.
Seawall repair in Gulf Shores takes a licensed marine contractor and, for most work, a city or county permit, the Corps of Engineers, State Lands and ADEM. We help you plan the next step before you sign.
Built on Gulf Shores and Baldwin County permit rules, Alabama coastal law, public bids and storm records.

A soft spot or hole behind the bulkhead usually means sand is escaping through a gap at or below the waterline. Keep people and mowers off it and note whether it grows after high tides or rain.
A wall that tips toward the water has usually lost support from its anchors or from the soil at its base. Mark a fixed reference point and measure the lean every few weeks to see if it is moving.
After a hurricane or a big blow, compare the wall with photos from before the storm. Look for a shifted cap, new gaps, missing backfill and loose dock connections before anyone walks or drives near the edge.

Match the water, not the zip code. Gulf-front owners read West Beach or East Beach. Little Lagoon owners read the north shore, south shore or pass. Canal and Intracoastal lots start with old-town canals or Waterway Village. Fort Morgan and bay owners use Fort Morgan bay side or Bon Secour.
National guides put repair at $100 to $250 per linear foot and new walls at $100 to $800 per foot, depending on material and access.
